See Full FAQAn XML sitemap is a file that lists the URLs of your site so search engines can discover and crawl them more efficiently. It can include optional metadata like last modification date, change frequency, and priority.
A single sitemap file can contain up to 50,000 URLs and be up to 50MB uncompressed. For larger sites, use a sitemap index file that references multiple sitemaps.
Submit your sitemap in Google Search Console (Sitemaps section) and Bing Webmaster Tools. You can also add the sitemap URL to your robots.txt file with a line like: Sitemap: https://yoursite.com/sitemap.xml.
changefreq is a hint (always, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, never) for how often the page might change. priority is a value 0.0–1.0 suggesting importance relative to other URLs on your site. Search engines may use these as hints only.
