A ROT (rotate) cipher is a simple substitution cipher that replaces each letter in the text with a letter some fixed number of positions down the alphabet. For example: ROT1: A → B, B → C, etc. ROT13: A → N, B → O, etc. ROT25: A → Z, B → A, etc.

The tool maintains the original case of letters while applying the ROT cipher: Uppercase stays uppercase (A → N) Lowercase stays lowercase (a → n) Numbers and special characters remain unchanged

The ROT cipher only affects letters (A-Z and a-z). All other characters remain unchanged: Numbers (0-9) stay the same Punctuation remains unchanged Spaces and line breaks are preserved Special characters are unaffected

No, ROT encoding is not secure encryption. It should only be used for: Simple text obfuscation Creating puzzles or games Learning about basic ciphers Hiding casual text (like spoilers) Never use ROT encoding for sensitive information.
