You can however create as many featured articles pages as you’d like. For example, for each category of articles you have for which you can create a featured articles landing page. Here we’ll show you the complete steps of how to create a feature article menu item on your Joomla 2.5 front page.

Creating a featured articles menu item in Joomla 2.5:

1. Log into your Joomla 2.5 admin dashboard
2. In the top menu, hover over to the Menus and click on the menu you want to add to, and then click to Add New Menu Item.
3. Then after Menu item Type click select and then the list of possible menu item types will appear, their click Featured Articles.(screenshot)
4. Next move to Menu Title and enter a name for your new menu item
5. Adjust the settings under Layout option  in the right hand column, and ensure to select all the categories and subcategories that you would like to show  featured article under select categories.(screenshots)
6. Click saves in the top right menu and close then test your Joomla 2.5 menu items.
